I disabled all my emergency notifications and still got the alert at 14:18EST over on the West Coast. So I guess they’ve expanded the POTUS broadcast to include whatever they want. A few years ago when we asked to be able to disable amber alerts and other safety alerts (because they’re becoming overused with spam notifications) they agreed, fine, but not POTUS alerts, we need to be able to tell you about POTUS level emergencies.

And here we are with National Alerts being unable to be silenced.

This makes me want to start a short-wave cellphone company.
