Oh, my mistake.
But still, Hollywood is still behind schedule on most of it's woke shows, and no progress can be made until the other union is satisfied
That means that we will have a much longer reprieve from woke Hollywood than what was labeled and scheduled, especially since the production is not like a electrical switch; even if the strikes end tomorrow, it might take a while before the Hollywood machine spins up again.
Also, it is speculated that the Hollywood studios have a ton of buyers remorse on all of the woke content they ordered over the past few years or so, so they are using the strikes to toss overboard a ton of the stuff and save money, especially since money is not easy to come by now.
Hopefully this boycott will last long enough for Hollywood to go all in on AI writing and that will be the straw that the camel's back
Doubtful, very doubtful, but one can hope.
Yes and no.
All of the Hollywood TV shows are behind schedule (5 months behind) but now, with the writers back to work, the majority of TV production is back working full speed with everything except the actual filming, which cannot begin until SAG-AFTRA has ratified their contract with AMPTP.
Writers back to work while the actors are still striking?
So much for that solidarity thing...
They have to, per contract. All the other 'below the line' workers who aren't writers were forced out of work, too you know. Such as script coordinators, writers' assistants, production coordinators, secretaries, assistants, camera men, makeup artists, set managers, video editors, music, prop people, special effects, etc.
They all have bills, rent and need to eat. They won't benefit from the writers and actors getting more money, but if the strike lasted any longer, many were on the verge of losing everything. I'm glad some of the workforce are back to work and are getting a paycheck.
Perhaps the viewers will go strike next! That would be awesome.
I feel like that’s already happened. There is basically a new level of viewership over the past year at least. What used to be double digits for viewers, are lucky to have a single digit now. It’s like people just turned off the tv. Good.
There are YouTube channels and get more views in a day than major networks recently. And thankfully those YouTube channels are more based than the tv has ever been.
