I love the sort of Streisand Effect at work here. Instead of just letting the books be there, they make a big deal about banning them so an active mind will ask "Why? Why ban that particular book?" and then will spend extra time finding a copy of it.
This was pretty much how I ended up reading "The Protocols" back in the day. Kept hearing it was a terrible book, a lie. How intriguing! Finding a copy was a little difficult but I managed it and read it. I didn't care one whit about the Jewish aspect because I could see that it was way beyond that.
Corrupting the peoples of the world, owning both sides of any government - I could already see that stuff happening with my own eyes. I was just kind of astonished that it had ever been written down so that anyone could read it.
That's how I ended up on R/The_Donald. There was an ask reddit post that read something like, "What is a subreddit you wish was banned?" Glad they steered me towards this cult.
The books that are banned are the ones the ban on banning books was designed to protect from banning.
Free speech works. You allow (whatever you consider to be) the bad speech—AND allow copious criticism of it, because that's also free speech. When that happens, the good ideas win, and bad ideas lose.
The Founders felt obnoxious speech should be fought with more speech, not with suppression.
lol the libs and "banned books" actively banning books

In Trump’s voice: “We have the best and most supportive cults!”
We’re so cultish we ask everyone to think for themselves.
They are against banning books ... unless the book are really bad
freedom of speech except for the speech they don't like. typical " liberal " lefties
Ha. r/bannedbooks is banning books.
The irony in that is they won't see it for what it is. Mental gymnastics.
That is the opposite of noticing, they're shutting down attempts at noticing.
