Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat

-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I've been a pacifist all of my adult life. I was a teen when the war if viet nam began, and just 25 when Saigon fell. Marched in all the marches after the age of 18, heard John Lennon sing give Peace a Chance at one of the largest Peace demonstrations in NYC. Up until President Trump, there were no Republican men in power who were anti war, so understandably, I spent a good part of my life on the "left" side of things. I became dedicated to Christ in all areas of my life at the age of 38. I had been religious up until the death of my mother, at the age of 15, and re embraced Christ in 1988, after living in hell , much of my own doing. And then I became a-political, but began making a parallel of Scripture with everyday life, personally and in my world view. This past Month has been the first time since 9-11 I felt horror, and then again when I saw what the CIA was doing regarding regime changes and inhumane treatment of prisoners of war. This time, though, I was able to disengage emotionally to give my poor peace loving soul a break, and once again spend spare moments on my knees. Jew vs Muslim, power seats in Israel, dead children, raging parents, all the same shit over and over and over again. My ponderings and prayer came to this realization. Abel slew Cain, meaning of course, generations and multitudes carried and carry that mark of Cain, through inheritance. It is only through baptism and confession of Jesus Christ that can assure a soul they have had that mark removed. But it comes with a responsibility, and that great cross to bear is to Love one another as God Loves me, to forgive as I have been forgiven. I have no choice but to be pacifist. I do believe in Peace through Strength, though. This most recent war is not Christian against Christian, we have enough of that within our own churches, and in our own personal struggles against Satan. Our brotherhood and sisterhood in Christ has the ability to hold strong against those who still carry the mark of Cain, we are washed with the one sacrifice of blood, which was given to all mankind, for the forgiveness of sin, that original mark. Our only prayer then, in my opinion, is for those Jews and Muslims to convert to accept Jesus as the Messiah . I have prayed that those little ones were visited by the Holy Spirit in their last breath, and that they went running toward him, baptized in fire. This has been my focus, and I confess, it has helped me, because all of this war and strife and death of children and simple people, and the disabled, and even innocent house pets , had me paralyzed in grief and helplessness for a couple of days. If this is the baptism of fire, for many unbelievers in the Holy Land, then there are no sides except the side of Christ. And any Christian pastor who is taking sides right now should get out of the way and let God do what he is going to do anyway. Come Christ Come to those who need you most!
You are right in a very big way.
But natural law is also by God's design and grace. How would Trump or any other spiritually awakened leader face this?
You can't ignore It. You can expose the root of corruption (DS, CIA, Clinton Org, etc) but it doesn't change you are either left with a bloated, power hungry Israel or an emblazoned terrorist group functioning as a state.
I agree. I’m so tired of people hurting one another, whether it be through wars or words. We are commanded to love, not pick and choose who we love, but to love all. Every single person has been created by Gods hands, and he loves everyone with their faults and sin. He endured the brutal pain and death so we didn’t have to. Encouraging death of others is wrong and will result in one’s own death and destruction. God is love.
Amen! I keep thinking to myself “Jesus, please come soon!” But then I have revelations like this afternoon with a sunshine high on my face… Love every minute you do have that blesses you. And prepare for His coming in your heart. And Love. Always Love.
