While true, I do see one silver lining: those who ARE productive will float to the top. NOT because of UBI, but the environment it creates will let someone who can think, work, and operate outside of that environment be ok: think Richard Rahl and Nikki.
That's bullshit really and that never really occurs. If anything the assholes and unreliable idiots seem to hold wages down, because corporations would honestly rather go through huge turnover and keep their wages low rather than pay a few good hardworking, honest, reliable, and trustworthy people well in return. Did you ever notice how most people who work hard and show up on time every single day are still broke and barely able to get by.
He succeeded because he didn't play by their rules. He bought and sold, worked, arranged, dealed, etc behind the scenes and without permission from "the system", bartering and trading based on legit needs and supply and demand, not from some government quota. Richard actions were the definition of unfettered capitalism, and the entire time his captor "Nikki" didn't understand how he could do so much and be successful while bucking the system. He freed himself, not by overpowering, but by rising above. And sharing a great awakening when the time was right:
"Your life is yours and yours alone. Rise up and live it."
You can down vote and disagree, but I stand by my statement.
If there is one silver lining about hard times, it is that it breeds strong men and heroes. Be the hero.
