I remember being in the service, you did what your superior ordered. Without question. If not you would be in the brig so fast it would make your head spin. Who said any of the special forces were ordered to commit war crimes? It sounds like they were sent into a combat area to do surveillance.

There are limits to that. You can't just perform war crimes and blame the orders you were given for example.
