Sadly the desire to publish a “scoop” outweighs the discipline to perform due diligence. Even if he had no additional sources on Meadows he could have looked into the plausibility of someone getting a listening device into the White House. Especially since the claim made it sound like it was frequently or even continuously.
Maybe my imagination is too fertile, but it is highly unlikely anything with an electromagnetic signature anywhere near the President is not detected.
(1) – No, Mark Meadows never told Jack Smith that President Trump didn’t declassify records. That was the Lawfare leak to ABC News in August
(2) – No, Mark Meadows never told the DC grand jury (under immunity) that he informed President Trump that Joe Biden’s election was legitimate.
(3) – No, Mark Meadows never wore a wire as a confidential informant while he was President Trump’s Chief of Staff.
And right on cue…. Special Counsel Jack Smith has implored a judge to revive the partial gag order in the federal election interference case against Donald Trump°
From Ryan's follow-up Tweet:
Former Rep. Mark Walker is the original source of these claims."
We should have known that this deep State money laundering POS was somewhere in the background on this
many people here are too young to remember the hoopla the media caused over michael jackson. in the media rush to get reader views, they published any bullshit that came along, regardless of factual basis. when it was proven later on that it was bullshit, media sources put out tiny blurbs of retraction, but carried on publishing the next round of bullshit. this might be one of the reasons Trump is so bitter with the msm and calls them fake news. because they are.
Congress, or even state legislators need to make laws to change that.
Media outlets that post/print proven fake news, and has to retract- then the retraction becomes that media outlets "front page" news story for 1 month, no advertisements, nor other stories can appear on that "front page" during their punishment period.
Maybe add a big fine to that law too.

It was bait. From theconservativetreehouse.org:
BEWARE – Jack Smith Is Baiting President Trump to Get His Suspended Gag Order Reinstituted for Trump Attacking Witnesses

That is a good idea - whatever emphasis a news organization used to break the story should be the same emphasis they use to make the retraction..
Yup - very common for the retraction to be buried 6 pages deep in a small notice not easily spotted.
40 babies were beheaded.....?
Hospital bombing with mass casualties....?
Biden won
Yep...I would estimate zero chance. Besides, I didnt read Meadows like that. Trump didnt either according to his comments
There is a magic word that isn't used too much right now. "Allegedly"
Even then, it was abused so much before not sure how much it would help now.
Better than not using it I guess.
The one they like is "an anonymous source familiar with the matter."
