Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment

-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
does anyone have knowledge on how to either cure at least greatly reduce stomach issues, such as severe cramping when going (#2)?
I have had trouble all my life (im 32 now) with going to the bathroom, staying regular, etc. I've always had unusually long bowel movements, 30+ mins or more.
i was told about 8 years ago at the ER that I had chronic crohn's disease, but never followed up on anything, because i've never trusted doctors & lots of the mainstream "medicines" have a million side effects.
a big problem i have now is having to go back to the bathroom 2-3 times before "im done", as the intense cramping lingers on & on.
i'm very athletic, eat mostly fish or stews, drink smoothies, etc. I even started trying to fast during october, but my problems remained. some days i couldn't bring myself to even do a workout because of my pain & irritability.
it's at a point now where I'm considering trying for SSI disability, but i hate that option for obvious reasons.
i've never taken ivermectin & idk anyone IRL that has, so if that's a viable option, i will rely on recommendations from you guys & any links you have, as far as dosage is concerned & any other medications that could help.
thank you very much!
After doing the recommended parasite cleanse, consider this simple addition. Whatever your weight is in pounds, drink at least one half that amount in ounces of liquid. Example if you weigh 100 pounds, drink at least 50 ounces of liquid daily. Try it for at least a week if you have good results keep it up. You should notice becoming more regular and almost no cramps. I always try the simplest solutions first. Hope that helps.
Read the book "Patient Heal Thyself" by Jordan Rubin...he had Crohn's at a young age and cured himself...very enlightening...
Do parasite cleanse - ivermectin. Increase water intake. Use Rexall Clear Fiber powder from Dollar General. There's no taste, and it doesn't make your drink thick like psyllium husks. Use Natural Calm Magnesium before bed. It comes in different flavored powders (sweet lemon is my favorite) to mix with water or comes in capsule form.
Icelandic skyr (high protein yogurt) works wonders for me. 3 or 4 days without it and there is a noticeable difference...
Here is a link to Dr Berg. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A1BiWgHxSL0
I too had issues like that plus GERD. Try Betaine HCI plus pepsin. It is affordable and it worked for me. It took about a month to help. Dr Eric Berg has a YT channel with several episodes on gut health.
Try a magnesium supplement at night, every night.
And then aloe (it comes in capsules) at night, until you're 'caught up' :). Then take when ever you feel you need it, it's soothing too and may help with the cramping.
Crohns is pretty awful, I don't have it but know a few people with it, they watch their diet closely avoid fiber and eat yogurt and fermented foods.
Oh yeah my nephew uses a cannabis vape for managing the pain. Maybe that or gummies could help.
I had stomach issues my entire life. Turns out it was parasites. Ground black walnut shell capsules did what no one else could … fixed it.
Been happening to me more often. I haven't found the sure cure, though Magnesium helps clear it all out for a could days. I use 'Calm' by Natural Vitality.
It used to be walking for a couple miles each day helped when my back was in better health.
When my small 200ish lb pony got ill, I gave them the dosing on the tube during Covid. That said, I have also seen some suggest that even a double dose or more could work. That did some interesting things to their gut, though stopped the benefit a couple weeks later.
IIRC the whole tube was just under 12mg doing the math & the pills from India were supposed to be about 12mg
My best time during since the beginning of Covid was taking Quinine multiple times per day as an ionophore for zinc a few times per day (liquid drops) & the combo really got some things moving, while I took it for a few weeks. Also did some crazy stuff to my insulin sensitivity (ie far more sensitive after a few days of consistent use). Also learned to use copper in combination with that zinc.
That said, I experimented with stuff that just made sense to me. Do your own research & with any advice or statements that others post here.
If I had to do it all again, I would start with increasing my own terrible water intake. Daily magnesium at bed & buying a bidet that is pretty strong with a filter in case anything is in the water supply.
