Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I don't know anything about football except the names of a few top players current and from the 70s. It's not something I've ever been interested in. I know a lot about Taylor Swift, what the public would know, not like I know her personally. I remember the first time I heard her and saw her first video I knew she was going places. My daughter was a teenager back then and like most teenager girls was fascinated with her. We saw her twice in concert once as an opener and then as a headliner. She used to be an amazing entertainer. We never saw her again because her ticket prices were comparable to pop star prices instead of country artist. Back then the highest prices at a concert was max $80 including tax & fees. I think her's were at least $200.00.
Once she changed genre from country to pop left Nashville and moved to NYC was when the changes started. We were fed an amazing story about her parents moving to Nashville when she was about 10-13. Every day for years her mom drove her to record labels and she pitched herself. Back then hearing that story I thought oh that's cool she's driven and wanted success. Now after I've been here a few years and learning how children are controlled by their parents I don't believe one word of that story. I loved her music but decided I shouldn't support her anymore.
The worst thing about all the lies is she was marketed as a role model for young girls. She was marketed as a good girl. Yet all her songs are about an ex boyfriend. How can a "good girl" have so many ex lovers? It reminds me of a person that always has an issue with co workers, family, friends etc and you finally figure out the person with the problem is that person not all the others in their lives.
Maybe she was once a good girl, who knows? People are good actors when they need to be. Sad thing is she's own know and has the huge audience to brainwash.
Her life is a lie. Her father is Scott Swift from the Swift Group, a division of Merrill Lynch that moves billions in assets.

Dang I didn't know this. Thanks for sharing that info. One more thing about Swift, Ellen has shown up at a few of her concerts and got on stage. Just another 🚩
Knowing what we know, I wonder what exactly young Taylor had to do to "sell herself" to all those record executives. 😎
The Nashville country / Christian to Pop Sleaze pipeline seems pretty strong. See Katy Perry.
I laughed at the OP talking about how she changed Karma to Chief - such treacle. People are conditioned to eat up the dumbest stuff.
Quality thread from you two, thanks.
I've been wondering the same. Basically anyone that's made it big has sold themselves. I remember someone commenting here in the past months about Swift getting the rights to her music from the first label she was with. Seems like they mentioned Soros but I can't be 100% sure. It had to someone big to get the rights to her music. That was a big stink when she left that label. Maybe just another reason so many country artists are creating their own labels. I love old country music but I know even back then they didn't get famous with out doing something.
