Often I tell my family (who questions the hours I spend researching all manners of politics, medicine, and new conspiracy analysis) that I feel like I am the Lighthouse on the hill - scanning the horizon for danger and incoming threats.
I'm there as a sentinel to protect my family whether they like it or not!
After a really shitty day of grocery shopping, I had just put my cart in the corral. I was walking to my vehicle and this beautiful older woman looked at me. She had such a genuine smile. She said, "thank you and God Bless you."
At that moment, instantly, my spirit was lifted. That erased all the negative I had been feeling that day. I thought, "this is what my focus needs to be on. Especially when I'm around the public."
Be the light 🕯️ whenever and wherever I can. You never know when a smile and a kind word, can lift someone from a bad place. And, be a reminder that there's a lot of good in the world.
I was at HEB today and the guy bagging helping me check out kept apologizing for things taking so long. I told him, "No worries, I am patient." I also told him, "That is a good Christmas Present that people can give this year to each other, patience." I know how rush rush and quick things are now days. Especially with businesses. Get in, Get out. Get and Go. Go go go. A major goal of all retailers is to get them in and out quickly. Or at least checked out quickly. Society has taught us the wrong thing.
Well, the young man smiled and I was very thankful to him for his help. Hopefully he will pay it forward.
Very nice!

Like a parent teaching their youngins
We're at the stage now of late-teens or early-twenties when the youngin' is just beginning to realize that the parents were correct.
Some, not all

Leading everyone out of the cave
I like that smile
sadly no, it had to be biblical for future generations to learn

Indeed
Beautiful and true. God brought us here for a reason.
This is a top 3 Pepe of all time right here. It beautifully illustrates a very important moment in this collective journey.
"Whether they like it or not" as the OP so eloquently stated.
More important is that we chose difficult truths over comfortable lies.
