According to the research in this video, the kill shot came from the storm drain on the right hand side of the street. The driver stopped where he was instructed (paint marking) to allow the shooter to get the shot. The bullet, on an upward trajectory (from under curb storm drain) hit JFK in the right forehead, and blew off the rear of his skull.

That video is amazing. I have believed Prescott's boy did it for 40 years. But LBJ, the mafia and other theories were possible. This vid tied it all together very convincingly.
