I am pretty technologically challenged but I know there is a way to view X threads without being on X...hopefully someone knowledgeable will step up to the plate. That being said...I recently joined X and I have enjoyed the diversity of information and knowledge I find there so perhaps you would consider branching out.

That I don't know. It could be that someone had already unrolled the thread so the link was already good to go. I've never unrolled a thread myself.
