That I don't know. It could be that someone had already unrolled the thread so the link was already good to go. I've never unrolled a thread myself.

It may just unroll things automagically. All I did was go here https://threadreaderapp.com/ and paste in the link to the first tweet.

I think you reply to the twitter thread and tag @threadreaderapp asking to unroll and then it does it automatically. I am not sure of the names but that is the basic process if I remember correctly.
