Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Well I'm curious what do you mean by spirituality?
That moment when you realize you are aligned with his Will, not yours, and begin to feel different about what you are doing is not something "ordinary", but heavenly, and it pushes you to learn more. It's a sensitive time, suddenly you "see" things in a different way, and realize it is all a miracle. You are pushed to seek a different kind of knowledge. If you are lucky enough to hear God's word when you are a child, going to church on Sunday, for instance, all start to make sense. Some people have to be brought to their knees, usually because they embraced sin in one way or another, and the consequences of sin have caused trouble in their lives, and they want to turn that around, so prayer becomes a way of life, the only way of life. I do mean belief of God in Christ, not some crystal or woo woo new age stuff, but, that too can lead a person to Christ , or at least the Christ consciousness, if the person keeps seeking, more is revealed, and in God's way, HE will keep opening doors, life gets better, struggles are endured with Faith. Theresa of Avilla has a great quote, " God can be found in the pots and pans". Meaning of course, if you are doing service, a calm can come over you, a calm that elates you. Attitudes change, habits change, because you awaken to sacredness all around you. When this happens, other people see it, and if they ask you the secret to your happiness, you can then offer the Gospel to them, not preachy, but a humble confession and witness where you can give all Glory to God, not your own ego.
That moment when you realize you are aligned with his Will, not yours
I just saw a gif with a quote about you only get one life. Can't find it now, it was referring to we think we only get one life until we hit rock bottom. Once we come out of the fog and get a new lease on life we realize we get two lives. The one before we figured out what's most important. I don't remember if it mentioned God but that's how I took it.
Doesn't seem like woke BS to me. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
