It was my impression Trump and the whitehats didn't want to let them off with an impeachment. That allows the media to demonize those bad Republicans.
I think Trump wanted him to become so exposed that he was removed by his own party via the 25th.
This impeachment plays right into the Dems hands. The RINOs will likely vote for it one and all. What will be interesting is to see how many of the Democrats jump on board. I would expect to see just enough to get him out, and likely those that have been painted as conservative Democrats.

I think Speaker Johnson knows impeachment is worthless because the Senate will never vote to convict. And, that he realizes what the is most important is the court of public opinion.
Hopefully what we’re watching is the optics of Republicans showing they, unlike the Dems, are doing this by the book. Hopefully, we see a meticulous series of hearings that are much more about waking people up than they are about actually setting up a vote to impeach.

I never understood the reasoning the Republicans want to impeach pedo Joe. Has he committed impeachable offenses? Absolutely!! But, in the end, pedo Joe is doing horrible as installed chief. His stupidity is handing Trump the presidency. Why would you want to interrupt your enemy when he is making mistakes?
I don't know, they impeached Trump twice, and did it help Trump at all? No, not from what a I remember. It just made the soyjacks point all day and say "SEE, Impeached! we told he was bad!"
Yes but, why stoop to their level. They did it as a ploy to keep their crimes quiet and projected it to Trump. Once Trump is back in office, then the gloves are off and crimes they actually committed will be dealt with. They have set precedent in going after Trump and now he can go after them with purpose!!
