They were also banned in 1994 (expired 2004). Must have missed that day in history class.

19?? Taxachusetts makes it illegal for state residents to touch a firearm (even in a gun store) without paying taxes for a state firearms "license".....
As I recall, some of them got shot in the face, promptly ending the exchange of ideas.
