That is so cool that your "kid" is a debate beast. Debating is not even being taught properly anymore.
Good for her!
My older brother was a champion high school debater and he would piss me off to the point of getting enraged.
Lucky, to have him as an older brother. He taught me to keep emotions in check and work on winning the argument, rather than defaulting to anger while losing.
Masterful debate is such a beautiful thing.
Was thinking of Christopher Hitchens the other day. Hated his ideological persuasion, but damn, his Rhetoric was a thing of beauty.
Noone exists on the left today of comparable ability.
Although, if alive today?
He would probably be more aligned to right of center traditional values as he smoked a cigarette, drank a whiskey and chatted with the likes of Georgetown Tucker.
Government education does not teach Trivium because the younger teachers are progressive. Trivium by definition is antithesis to our current government and to progressivism.
He might have only been shown the info recently. Or maybe he was waiting…
Tucker was raised with the finest Socratic Greek education available at the time.
His father was CIA president of Voice for America for 5 years.
That means his father specialized in propaganda for "the other country".
Lol, we all know now that the other country is actually us, those that love our country.
Gonna be hard for me to ever trust Georgetown Tucker, but is fun watching him do this thing of his.
One last thing.
Where are the inner city kids of "color" that are being taught the Trivium?
In my life, I have never met a black person that knows about Logic, Rhetoric and Grammar.
Never met one, but a couple did and do exist.
Douglas, who debated Lincoln and Sowell today.
Sad.
I just read "Letter from Birmingham Jail." MLK Jr. must have been educated classically.
Also, I should introduce you to my black kid--she's the most feared debater in her homeschool group (which does NOT just consist of her siblings 😆).

For sure, MLK was classically educated.
There are others of course. For me, though, Douglas and Sowell are towering giants that always come to mind.
Take away the color of their skin and they stand just as tall.
Amazing human beings that will always be remembered.
One of my bucket list items is to take Thomas Sowell out for dinner and be able to spend an hour or two with him before he leaves us.
He is up there in age.
His mentor was Eric Hoffer and I have read everything Hoffer published for public consumption.
First question would probably be, "what was your first impression of Hoffer, the man."
Probably will not happen, but he is the person currently alive, that I'd want to have an hour with.
Even more so than the Trumpster.

Many normies are followers. They need to see a guy like Tucker evolve publicly in order to make them feel comfortable doing the same thing.
