We need to remember a lot of deals were made. Once presidential immunity is removed, the WH can go after all the presidents involved in pushing America towards tyranny. But in Carter’s old frail age people will not respond kindly to military tribunals for a frail old man who, while had is own set of fuck ups, isn’t necessarily hated at such a vitriolic level compared the Bush, Clinton, etc.
I’m guessing a plea was made much like the Queen. When the royal family goes down all eyes will be on King Charles not Elizabeth. When the American presidential dynasties go down, Carter will not deal with much criticism after his death.
TLDR, Carters death is his plea deal. When we go after the DS you can keep your legacy as being a peanut farmer president.
Carter will be allowed to go down in history as a guy who was well meaning, but in over his head.
Interesting note, there is an Amazon produced series set during the Carter Presidency that portrays his Administration as being manipulated by German Nazis. Some of them were brought to the United States through Project Paperclip and others infiltrated his Administration posing as American citizens.
I think you are correct with this, some of the players and puppets who cooperated or turned evidence will just quietly "disappear" into History.
He didn't get an envelope at GHWB funeral.
Yes indeed and I have to believe that was related to our frens hypothesis.
Not a bad theory
Carter tried to bilk the DS and was politically destroyed publicly be means of the Iran hostage situation.
Carter was a fool, but an honest fool.
Peanuts give me indigestion
Non soluble fiber. What goes in must come out... sometimes there is little change in the outcome.
Lol yup. Haven't had that issue lately I have been carnivore (finally stuck to it properly, no beer or cheat meals) and so far so good!
I don't think Carter was smart enough to know he was manipulated by all those treasonous people around him. He didn't get the "note" at the funeral. He was just a puppet that could be manipulated very easily. I think his brother was the smart one! KEK
