Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat

Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.

Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment

-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I was going to make this long talk a topic of its own, but didn't think it was relevant enough to the Q mission to warrant it. But I felt it was noteworthy anyway.
I started watching an anime called Jobless Reincarnation (Mushoku Tensei).
At the end of the fourth episode, we are introduced to a really tall, dark-skinned, one-eyed really buff catgirl.
...Named Ghislaine. It's even pronounced correctly in the English dub.
Being a long-time anime fan, I had heard of the character, but didn't know she was from THIS series.
Why am I telling you this? At this point in the story, the main character, though in his thirties before death and literal rebirth (the first episode shows him being born), is in the body of a seven-year-old.
Knowing what I know now, this made me wary.
I should note, however, that the Japanese novels this series was based on first came out in 2012, long before any of us knew who Ghislaine Maxwell was. This could all be a complete coincidence, the author just thinking the name sounded cool and exotic. I've been there...long story.
Think all the Christian symbolism in Neon Genesis Evangelion, a series I adore, which wasn't really symbolism at all--the creators just thought it made for some great visuals. Which it does.
Regardless, from what I can tell without getting into spoiler territory--again, I'm only four episodes in--we also have zero reason to believe the Ghislaine character will do anything even remotely untoward with children. The main character was a pervert in his past life, yes, but he at least knows to keep a handle on it around other actual people, and is making an honest effort to be a better person now.
And I have to say, I'm really enjoying the show so far. I'll keep you updated as I watch more of the first season.
My point?
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Cool story bro. Seriously, I liked reading it. 😃
I've got a passing familiarity with anime, but mostly the old "classics", 90s and before, and of course the Ghibli blockbusters, Death Note, etc. I've seen Neon, but pre-awakening. Loved it, but due a rewatch.
All this to say I like that you have eyes on this area. It's gotten so large, and is so influential to the youth these days.
Also, I've got Perfect Blue on my radar as it was recommended as similar to Twin Peaks, my favorite show and one I believe is chock full of "insider comms". David Lynch is well aware of human trafficking - it's a huge part of his work.

Ask Monica that question 😂😂😂
Still sounds like comms. Perhaps ex-pedos are now co-operating? Or are they trying to say that some pedos can be rehabilitated?
Whatever the comms, I think its Cabal people talking with each other.
All this will become relevant in coming weeks as more stuff gets exposed through and after Epstein files.
Time for that long story, I guess.
When playing a tabletop RPG in a fantasy setting with some friends, I created a character named Sam Conway. Sam because it's a name that's short and easy to remember, and Conway after a character from the Mighty Ducks movies.
At the time, I had never heard of chemist Samuel Conway, who is not only one of the most prominent furries in the world, but is also the founder of AnthroCon, the largest furry convention on the planet.
There was no story behind it. No meaning behind my choosing the name. I seriously had no idea who he was until I randomly looked up the name on Wikipedia.
You choosing a name for your character is very different from a funded Anime writer choosing a name for their characters.
Thank for the write up. This one has not been on my watch list but you make it a case for it. Quick question, is the MC drawn as a 7 year old or does he time skip into a teen/adult in his new world?
There's actually been several time-skips already. As I said, the first episode shows him being born, with his new parents smiling down at him. Then it shows him at ages two and four, reading a book of basic water magic which would go on to give him something to live for, as you'll see.
The fourth episode alone contains another skip of almost a year, for reasons I don't want to spoil.
From what I've read, the point is to show him at various points in his new life. He will eventually grow up, yes.
