He told her to name her price, the amount the company would need to pay her to get her to agree. She cut him off and made it clear that even a billion dollars was not enough to buy her off.

It also sounded like she was eating while talking, which is pretty disrespectful, especially if she was on the phone. But if she was at a party/gathering and everyone was standing around eating and drinking, it would make more sense.
Maybe someone placed a bug in a lamp or something.
If it were something like that, I could also see her being cautious about other people overhearing.

Well, you bring up a good point. There's a lot we don't know about the situation. There may even be a lot more to the recording that we didn't hear in this clip. The eating struck me as odd, too. It reminded me of eating popcorn, lol. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this, because, regardless of her reaction, he has some 'splaining to do.
