I was in elementary school in the 80s (older than dirt's daughter, I know) and can remember them going over the pyramid maybe once or twice per year. When they talked about the top...the sweets etc., everyone in the class would whine (fourth grade ice cream obsession is real)...but when they went over the bread section? Wth? HOW many servings per day? We were stupid kids in California, and even WE got that it was b.s..
I was in elementary school in the 1960s. I know dirt himself...
I was in High School. Lord I feel OLD!!!
Me too.
Are you ex-Old Guard? Your handle is their motto.

Oh nifty...how's he doing?
Hell I graduated highschool in 1983. Thanks a lot!🤣
I ETS’d from the Army in 1983!
Lol it was my pleasure to trigger yall. But my kids are anywhere from 22 to 34(some are step kids) and they all claim I'm older than dirt at 49. I can't get a break and I'm not even 50 lol
I was born in 1960; so I went to elementary in the mid to late 60's. I am older than dirt KEK! as we didn't have the FOOD PYRAMID. We simply had what was called THE 4 FOOD GROUPS.
1961 here Mary, we've seen some shit, right?! Lol, riding bikes without helmets, drinking from garden hoses, swimming in ponds, party lines, playing OUTSIDE, moms having desserts ready for ant company that just dropped in... good times
Yes. Those were the days. Wish I could bring them back somehow. No stress, no anxiety, no depression. We didn't have much but you can't miss something you never had. I'm the 4th child in a family of eight. An even number of boys and girls. 2 brothers have passed on. Would love to throw my arms around them both. One day we will all be together again. I miss them all, every last single one of my family that have passed on.
Born in '63. Shot my first deer at 8. My first handgun experience was an Army 1911 that my uncle had. Grew up in the country. We lived in several areas that had neither running water, nor electricity. Recently, because of ice and snow, we were without power and running water for 30 hours one stretch, and several 4 or 5 hour stretches at a time. I gotta say, I really enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Born in 69, we had all the fun stuff too in Oklahoma. The more dirt you could roll around in the better.
I've always joked about my age by telling people I gave God the recipe for dirt...:D
Now that's a good one. I'll bet even God laughed on that one.
Yeah we had those too, but much like the 'I before E except after C' conversation, there seemed to be too many surprise exceptions lol
Wierd (no that isn't right) Weird! That i before e didn't work well so they weren't always right.
If the 80's knew dirt, then my generation invented dirt.
Gives new meaning to the line in "Emmaline" by Hot Chocolate: "At seventeen we were wed And worked day and night to earn our daily bread"
