Biweekly my employer has an open questions forum for leadership and the past several meetings there has been someone(s) anonymously submitting questions about DEI. Any ideas on what a good question could be to possibly help the company reconsider or limit DEI initiatives?
I was thinking about asking something about why they've chosen to value equity over equality, as we've all heard the saying that "equality is equal opportunity and equity is equal outcome", however that seems to be more of the political definition as when I look up equity in the dictionary it just says "fairness, impartiality", so maybe that's not such a gotcha question I thought it would be.
Any suggestions?
Mention possible lawsuits. DEI is job discrimination. Look for some examples.
It is an abomination. It encourages stupidity and dishonesty. We are entering Communism when productivity and ability are not recognized as top criteria. Recently a family member gave a talk over the Internet. Then a DEI started asking her questions. She did not understand the talk. She said your energy was good. But what does it do to help DEI. They are a perpetual lobby machine for inefficientcies. When she was asked to give another talk on her important research, she said "no thank you". She is not working hard to be fodder for idiot DEI lobbyists.
I said to HR once “So, you just want me to be mediocre?” The look on their faces was priceless.
I am labeling it as racism (DEI) and sexual harassment (pride) in the workplace, because it is.
“The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.” ― Ayn Rand
The problem with DEI, etc... is the dogma that a group > an individual. It's essentially the backbone of liberal hivemind (and Bureaucracies). It's so convenient to then use aggregated measures to cluster & divide people according to some difference (e.g. race, gender, income, etc). And of course, champion solutions to such contrived discrepancies.
I would ask what data/ statistics compliment the assertation that skills vary according to "group" membership and if hiring decisions/ promotions should be made from them? Also, if diversity is a hiring criteria, or job qualification, when will we see these characteristics added to job postings?
Can your company workflow/output be copies easily? Probably not; but always a good question. We need no woke companies to form and replace those willing to DIE... err DEI. ;)
It's not a woke company right now.
Key phrase…Right now. It creeps, next thing you know is a woman who identifies as a man is standing next to you at the urinal trying to make sure her piss stream hits the fragrance puck on the bottom of the urinal😂😂😂💦💦💦
Ask them why they're so concerned about the color of someone's skin instead of the content of their character, and make sure they know where that quote came from.
"equity is a trap to destroy you from within"
Meritocracy is what makes a company productive, successful and sustainable. Everything else breaks it. The management who doesn't understand this should be fired in its entirety.
As far as I know, all of the woke and DEI bullshit traces back to some sort of state legislation and often some sort of funding or penalties therein. Having worked in the public sector I have seen this over and over again. By the time such measures get implemented or effect the local level, pushback is frequently futile; often the authorities at the local level feel just as powerless as the local citizenry. I would imagine the same is true within companies and even corporations. With this in mind I think we need to form watchdog groups covering various issues and bills by state and federal legislators before they come into law. Back in the day, we could rely on watchdog journalists to keep a check on things but obviously that has long since not been the case. I would suggest research the LAWS passed in your state and how they effect the company. Create a handout with short bullet points of the facts. Then create and PETITION your legislators to repeal them. The only thing that needs to be asked is for people to join you in the petition.
