Britain's e-bus ticking timebomb: How nearly TWO THOUSAND electric buses worth £800m face urgent recall over fears they could see burst into flames
... All of the affected vehicles were manufactured between May 3, 2019 and February 6, 2024. They all contain batteries supplied by Chinese firm BYD. ...
They were bought because London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced in 2021 that all new buses in London must be 'zero emission'.
... Such is the level of threat posed by electric bus fires, London Fire Brigade is currently re-writing its operations manual on dealing with such incidents. ...
This "green" stuff is a scam, but it seems specifically a scam tied to the CCP. There are other "zero emission" technologies, like hydrogen fuel cells, that have been around for a few decades. I don't know the current status of them, but they did have some fuel cell powered buses (Ballard Power Systems) in Vancouver in the 1980s. Hydrogen is way, way, safer than spontaneously combusting lithium batteries.
Seems fishy that so much of the "new" electric vehicles magically and mysteriously tied to China when other options exist.
The Left's crazy platform on display for all to see:
Good - the sooner this happens, the quicker we can get rid of them! The EVs are proving to be dangerous, time consuming and likely to leave you stranded!
I love the smell of burning EV’s in the morning. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Zero to 100% emission in 3...2...1...
As vehicle options go, that "suddenly bursting into flames" option is a killer.
A bus that actually runs and provides an excellent services can replace 50 cars. That's one coal rolling V8 diesel instead of 50 coal rolling V8 diesels, so what's the problem with diesel powered buses? They're already doing an excellent job at reducing pollution and more importantly traffic.
Scalextric or Carrera should buy them and install guide pins in front.
Of course one would need a whole lot of expensive track along with a helluva lot of space to really enjoy racing them....
And I was already worried about Swalwell's farts causing fires. All that methane...
