Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Just found out my political party was switched to libertarian, against my will. I'll see if I can fix it at the pool station tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Edit: I did change it at the polling station before voting. So far, so good. If only I trusted the voting machines and the vote-counters.
Just curious. Does your state have voter id cards, and was one sent to you showing your new party affiliation?
Here's what the OK Elections Board has on their site:
https://oklahoma.gov/elections/voters/voting-101.html
In my State, Vermont, you must vote in the town you live in, if you are away you can get an absentee ballot. In order to register you must take the Free Mans Oath in front of a town clerk. In a town of under 1,000, everyone knows who you are. Paper ballot, in a box. Town officers tally them, save them, and call the results in.
No, I'm in Cali where you can (pretend to) vote anywhere at any time. They sent ballots to 4 people at my address while only 2 live here, and sent them multiple times. They've sent so many official ballots it's like junk mail. I'm sure I had the opportunity to correct it, if I had paid more attention. Or had suspected the registration could have changed. But I can probably switch at the booth; I'll try.
Good luck to you!
Hmmm.
I read an email from the Oklahoma Election Officials that this is the first time Libertarians have met the criteria to be on the primary ballot.
Makes me wonder if there was some sort of "glitch" or shenanigans with voter registration information. A hack???
Am pretty sure that we will see the truth about this soon because there will be scrutiny on the libertarian voters registration changes.
