Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
急逝 = "DIED SUDDENLY" --- I just learned that Akira Toriyama, the artist for Dragonball, Dragon Quest, Dr. Slump, etc experienced a climate change in his heart a few days ago. Here's the article. Sorry for the moon runes:
https://news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/1704333a2cf73ddbce982d56738287cb115f0e9d
So he had a heart attack, fell, hit his head, and THAT'S what caused the subdural hematoma that killed him.
...I can't do it.
I'm still saying "rest in peace."
Toriyama-sensei's work means too much to me. It's inspired so many young boys, and men, to step up and face evil head-on.
That you can overcome any adversity through hard work and training.
ありがとうございます。Arigatou-gozaimasu. Thank you so much, Akira Toriyama.
My favorite thing that Toriyama gave us was the SNES RPG Chrono Trigger. My daughter used to be a huge Dragon Quest fan (she still likes the Slimes, but doesn't play the games anymore). I've tried to get her to play Chrono Trigger.
My favorite RPG of all time.
Yes, this is very sad news indeed.
I posted this top level. Japanese vaccine adoption rate make it impossible for me to not think it was the vaccine
I hope my thread gets stickied for a little bit. Plenty of pedes and anons grew up with Dragon Ball
For real. Nearly everyone got the clot shot here in Japan. Nearly nobody knows English enough to spend more than five seconds searching the blatant criminal history of Pfizer before rolling up their sleeves like obedient slaves here in Japan. Fortunately, my in-laws thought it was unnecessary to get the shots, so they are safe. My wife and kid are clean, but pretty much everyone we're surrounded by got at least a few. Some have realized that the shots were no good though. An adult student of mine got them right away, but in November she told me she won't take anymore shots. I didn't have the opportunity to ask why, but it seems that hopefully the people willing to get the fraudulent boosters is dwindling.
