The Supreme Court gets 1,000s of requests per year from people who want them to review a lower courts ruling.
Due to the number of complex cases the Supreme Court is able to hear and rule on each year, most of these requests are NOT accepted.
Others may disagree, but it seems to me that the Supreme Court already has a very full case load of important cases AND since Trump will likely need the Supreme Court to hear then rule on some of his appeals on an expedited basis; appeals that are live-or-die important to us ALL, I'm very, very glad the Supreme Court is being judicious with its calendar.
am still not a fan of this particular line up of justices, they seem to rule against the constitution and the betterment of the people time and again. am well aware of the fact soooo many cases are appealed to the court. in this case, the man was not convicted of a crime that would disqualify him from serving, imo. he was convicted of a misdemeanor of trespassing in a restricted area, not of insurrection. if we are able to assert our political beliefs above what an actual conviction is, then maybe any legislator or senator that received a traffic ticket for any reason can be deemed a danger to themselves and others and therefore not able to hold office either. (an extreme hypothetical, I hope you get the message)
This. They can’t hear every case. They might relegate it to a priorities list and squeeze it in some other time. People need to understand the difference between ruling, staying, and temporarily refusing to hear. They’d get less pissed at news like this.
our supreme court sucks...
Fwiw....
