He pretends that somehow HE (and also his mates) has power over C's future employers (as they used to have), but when one looks at recent history of people who have been cancelled, who have substantial audience - Well, their audience grows. So, the fact that he quotes HER name and also Alex's, means he is trying to get eyes on his tweet, algorithmically.
