Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
🙏 Prayer request for Lauren. 🙏
This is tearing me up inside as I hope it's just a sick April Fool's joke, hence why I'm not making a dedicated post.
Lauren and I were BG/GF back in high school and was my date for Senior Prom. We drifted apart after I went to college in Boston.
She went to a different college, got raped as a freshman, then lost her dad a couple years later. She was often in and out of the hospital with bad ovarian cysts and later decided to have a hysterectomy in her 30's to end the pain. I'm assuming that during this time she got hooked on pain meds as I know she was struggling with depression and addiction. She had spent time at a couple addiction health recovery centers to get clean and sober.
About 5 years ago, she found a guy that she loved who took good care of her. Things seemed to be going great as they were celebrating excellent milestones on her sobriety, had a home together and got some new pets that she adored.
Last week she posted that her mom had passed away from Alzehimer's. She flew out to the midwest on Friday to coordinate and attend the services.
Early this morning, her husband takes over her account saying Lauren was crying for her mom, was missing her deeply and had overdosed at the hotel. It appears to be real as he's begging for friends and family in the area to help since he's now got two funerals to deal with while he's away from home.
Lauren was a Trump big supporter and I worry that the deteriorating state of the world and the loss of her beloved mom were just too much.
I just wish this was a sick joke, but it's probably not. Thank you for any prayers you can send. 🙏💗
Prayers on the way fren.
Two funerals? Are you saying she died of her overdose?
Yes, two funerals.
He stated that her heart stopped and that she passed away. Sorry if I wasn't clear above. It's a lot to process. Most recent updates are that she will be cremated. Possibly in time to be buried with her mother.
Wow. That's tragic. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend/former girlfriend, anon. The death of a loved one can have a devastating effect on even the strongest of individuals, but for those teetering on the edge of self-control it can be even worse. Lauren's grief over her beloved mother's passing was more than she could bear. May God have mercy on her soul.
Heavenly Father, on the passing of anon What-Me-Worry's cherished friend Lauren we ask humbly that You take this woman's soul into Your kingdom where she can have eternal rest, to be free from the many demonic attacks she endured while here on this earth. We ask that You give peace, strength and comfort to all Lauren's loved ones - her husband, friends and any family she has remaining here - as well as to the beloved friends and family of her mother as they're both laid to rest. In Jesus' loving name. 🙏✝️
Thank you Lurker.
That was beautiful. 💗🙏
Dear Lord - Please help Lauren recover from all the physical and emotional pain she has suffered and continues to suffer. Please bring her relief and help her find strength in Your light and compassion. May Lauren find solace in Your glory. Amen.
Amen.
Thank you Fren.
