Companies are tightening up expecting Trump to end a lot of the federal hush money that has been throw arround. They are going back to leaning on their productive few. And the DEI department doesnt provide anything other than a talking point and extra expense. They are also 3 years into DEI hiring practices and very sick and tired of basically being pinned into a corner by people who dont work, arent intelligent, and will sue at the drop of a hat as soon as they sense being pressured to get actual work done.
I wouldn't be so sanguine about the outcome. What people are failing to realize is that the diversity-equity-inclusivity (DEI) principle (and its general outlook) has first taken hold of the top echelons of a company. As it drives downwards, the company will systematically lose the expertise to discern competence, discipline, and unity. Leaning on their productive few? How will they know who those are? I was number one ranked in my company for my entire 40-year career, and at the end they didn't know what to do with me, and began to (illegally) assign me to work that was not covered by my employment contract.
There will be no easy comeback when the company leadership is clueless.
