Well, the thing is... it wasn't the Left that pushed it. It was greedy big business. "Hey, plastic is fiiiiiiiiine... because we recycle it. So it's okay for us to create it and use it."
You don't have to be a Lefty to see pollution and want to do something about it. Yes, Lefty's are daft and idiotic, but the problem didn't start with them.
When I was working, the office where I was decided to go down the recycling route to win some Brownie points. We were all given an extra waste bin which we did not quite have room for under our desks. One type of waste in one bin and another type in the other.
It looked OK until you saw the cleaners emptying both bins into the same skip!
I have been having this argument with my friends for a very long time. I based it on the fact that there is no way local recycling centers are actually separating our garbage like they claim. I just refused to believe it. This certainly lends itself to that theory.
Turns out, everything the left has pushed over the decades has been bullshit. Color me shocked...

They collect it and ship it to china, and they dump it in the sea, and the current takes it off to the center of the pacific.
They they blame us and demand more money.
I saw a news artical about that years ago, but it was scrubbed from the internet I guess.
