The 18-year-old was picked by the Republican Party of Florida on Wednesday night as one of the stateโs at-large delegates to the Republican National Convention, according to a copy of the results.
Republican Party of Florida chairman Evan Power said
the 18-year-old high school senior will serve as one of 41 at-large delegates from Florida to the national gathering, where the GOP is set to officially nominate his father as its presidential candidate for the November general election.
Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Trumpโs youngest daughter, Tiffany, are also part of the Florida delegation to the convention taking place in Milwaukee from July 15 to July 18.
Eric Trump was selected as delegation chair, meaning he will place his fatherโs name in for the nomination
A campaign official told ABC News that Barron "is very interested in our nation's political process."

I feel sad for Barron. He could have been anything he wanted, and lived a life full of happiness, opportunity and satisfaction. He has set the bar so low for himself...
I feel proud of him. We need 18 year olds to care about the government and elections and process enough to step up and be part of the change needed. He can still attend college or business school or travel the world or whatever he dreams of doing.
To be fair just about any bar is too low with that height advantage
Itโs a delegate position. Heโs 18, not old enough to become a rep. Heโll be fine. Heโll probably go to a good university and become a businessman like his father.
It was the line in the article about how interested he is in politics that I was commenting on. Politics is something that draws you in, and one thing leads to another.
I realize he is still young.
I read that line and thought that was an inference by the author. I would imagine his interest stems from the bullshit he sees his dad going through because of the political machine.
