The Anthropic Principle! People still seem to be operating under the idea that cells are simple; no understanding of just how complex a single cell is and how each organelle of the cell has to function perfectly for life to continue and how each cell has to replicate itself perfectly in order to divide. It blows my mind that people still believe in evolution. 🤦♀️
Goldilocks is a concept that describes the basic features necessary for life to emerge and sustain itself. Given our emerging knowledge of life being able to sustain itself in the most toxic environments, and even radiated environments (Chernobyl) the question becomes whether the goldilock concept needs updating.
In reality, knowing the prerequisites of life does not answer the question of WHY ? What for life has emerged.
Then we are back at the following options:
A willful act by a creator.
A consequence of natural laws.
The first option requires answering a follow up question: How about the trillions of planets out there? Currently, we have limited resources to investigate.
The second option, requires a follow up question: How about the trillions of planets out there? Currently, we have limited resources to investigate.
Ockham's Razor: Which of these two options requires the least assumptions?
Whatever side of the argument your opinion falls, in essence, does it change fundamentally the following statement:
We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Personally, I think it does not change that statement fundamentally. It also does not change the notion that virtue is a consequence of Freedom, as freedom is a requirement to discover and reach your unique potential as a man.
However, we then have to accept the fact that this world we live in, has a distinct characteristic not geared towards freedom. It is the homogenizing effect of mediocrity.
There is then only one choice: freedom or slavery.
Just read through the post . A great post that I thoroughly enjoyed to read. Consciousness and freewill seem foreign to those non believers but to reasonable thinking people they seem so naturally real.
Paul Davies, says that some scientists claim to be on the verge of providing answers to the great questions of existence such as Why are we here?
You cannot answer this question objectively purely based on facts, as in the current mode of science. To really answer this question, you need the secret knowledge that has been denied to the Humanity.
What do you believe to be the secret knowledge? People that are ' conspiracy minded ' have been searching for this. I've staked my all on a creator God is real and His son the Christ.
Ive toyed with the idea that God is the universe and the universe is God. It is without beginning or end. That we were created so that God may know himself.
I was raised Catholic. To believe in the idea of the Trinity. And I do, even as I lose trust in the Catholic hierarchies ability to be truthful and to guide my Faith. The ideas above are my own. They were not planted by outside sources. I can not assure you they are accurate but it does seem to contain something beautiful in that the entire universe is itself a single entity. That we are all of the universe and therefore of God.
Just an idea I have toyed with as I contemplated the mystery of life.
Yeah, but the question is "What is the purpose of creation". Unless we can ask God to respond publicly to answer this question, the only way to know the answer is through secret knowledge, assuming it has been revealed indirectly already.
God is real
This is the last and ultimate red pill
Amen!

...you have a firm grasp of the situational reality...
There is of course another way of looking at it:

...outstanding addendum, expertly stated and framed...

...precisely...
You cannot answer this question objectively purely based on facts, as in the current mode of science. To really answer this question, you need the secret knowledge that has been denied to the Humanity.
Are they going to release it?
...all of the "secret knowledge" I need is in the Bible...
