This is such good information...some people do this yearly to reset their immune systems...the replies are always interesting to read...Dr. Makis has been such a champion for truth...I truly appreciate his calling...
Please remember that when you detox via fasting, you need to ensure that your body is capable of flushing put these toxins safely.
True...good advice...herxheimer effects are very real and can be quite serious...if you read the comments people talk about the headaches and malaise and it seems to concentrate about in the middle...if you get through the worst of it you continue to feel better the closer you get to the end. What I like is that Dr. Makis has done this fasting and therefore has a better understanding of it...this improves bowel function so that the body is more capable of elimination...after all the colon is our 2nd with more than 500 million neurons and is the most complex neural network outside of your brain.
THANK YOU tweety for this VITAL information! Love Dr Makis!
Well...I think you have a lot of alternative healing that you could share...this is what I love best...not too big on politics, etc....I am only helping out a friend until they return...music and alternative healing are my strengths...that's it...other than being a mom that is all I know...of course motherhood means you are a jack of all trades...as you well know...I am a big fan of Dr. Makis...he is a mover and a shaker...a man of knowledge...
I would suggest watching some of Barbara O'Neil's videos where she goes into this. From what I remember, she gives two kinds of soups coming out of the fast to help get rid of toxins.
She is a hero of mine with all her great information...I was introduced to her through the SDA site/Walter Veith...there is some discussion of how to break the fast in the comments under this post...Dr. Makis also answers questions online on X...he is such a great doctor...it is apparent he really cares about people...
I once did a longer fast but then went out for breakfast with a friend and ate a good breakfast to break the fast...boy was I sorry...lesson learned...but now that I IF, I feel very comfortable with a small amount of food...
Yeah, honestly doing IF regularly is a great way to keep yourself healthy and detox slowly, while also losing weight. My wife has tried multi day fasting, and I haven't yet since I can already feel myself getting healthy. Might try it one day once I do more research. Thanks for the info.
Yes! She is a wealth of information!
I confess that I didn't read the article, so maybe the article says this. When you do a fast, you are supposed to give yourself an enema every day that you don't go on your own. It is super important to get the toxins out, and they can be reabsorbed in the colon if they sit in the colon for too long.
There is no information like this in the article...I have never heard of this in relation to long term fasting, but I know that enemas can be very helpful...you are so correct that the bowels are loaded with toxins that need to be eliminated...I have found fasting promotes bowel evacuation...
Some people stop pooping altogether when they fast. It is imperative those people do enemas or else it defeats the purpose of the fast.
Great info...thanks...
That makes sense why sometimes decisions are in your gut.
Yes. Everything starts in the gut. If you’re full of parasites and have destroyed your gut biome with prescription drugs ie antibiotics, your food nutrients aren’t even there for you. Making kefir at home is so much fun. With raw milk 😂🙌
As long as you can poop and sweat you should be good. Notice I said YOU 😂 I’m such a baby after 24 hours
