Doctor Yourself: Natural Healing that Works by Andrew Saul... I listened to him a lot at the beginning of covid and purchased this very informative, resource book. He worked with Dr. Abram Hoffer and co-authored some of his books and he is the definitive authority of Vitamin C, having learned from Linus Pauling. His site http://www.doctoryourself.com/ is loaded with information...
After reading this following post 2 days ago...

I have been doing a lot of studying to understand the Linus Pauling protocol for heart disease and the sub-clinical symptoms of scurvy that relate to heart disease. I have been a proponent of orthomolecular medicine and megavitamin therapy for years. I even read and studied about megadoses of vitamin C...BUT... for some reason I did not realize that Linus Pauling had a protocol to reverse heart disease. My FIL had two by-pass surgeries and died in his 70's of a heart attack...heart disease runs in my husband's family and now that we are in our 70's he is exhibiting all the usual signs of heart disease and is on the usual drug protocol to "maintain" cardiovascular disease. However, there is no real reversal of the heart disease, as his calcium score is VERY HIGH. So before we do stents, etc. I plan to utilize some of the things that have recently been brought to my attention.
Many may remember that we treated my schizophrenic sister in the 70's with orthomolecular psychiatry that utilizied megadoses of B3 per Dr. Abram Hoffer. That was eye-opening to say the least and so I became aware of Linus Pauling's book Vitamin C and the Common Cold. At that time, I did not think much about heart disease...but now it is imperative to understand the exact cause and proper treatment of heart disease...for me and my husband.
So this article is just a sampling of some of the success stories of Vitamin C. I have more that I have discovered that I want to share...we have been lied to about heart disease, vaccinations, the role of cholesterol in our bodies and the treatment of not just mental illness and cancer but also heart disease. The flood gates of information have opened and I surely hope that you all wake up to these truths...
Vitamin C, Melatonin, Glycine and NAC. The Fantastic Four.
“ laying down Lp(a)” Would you please explain what this is? Thanks!
It starts with endothelial inflammation and one of the main causes is fructose. Another associated cause is insulin resistance. Reduce your insulin resistance and your fructose intake and most of the inflammation goes away.
When the endothelium (arterial wall) is inflamed, the liver sends cholesterol to repair the damage, like a band aid. Reducing cholesterol won't help at all.
You need to combat the inflammation and take vitamins D3 and K2 to remove calcium from the blood and put it into the bones where it belongs.

Insulin really gunks up your pathways
"Pauling said arterial plaque was the result of the body trying to repair damage caused by a long-term vitamin C deficiency. He believed heart disease was a form of low-level scurvy (yes, the disease that used to strike sailors of old on long ocean voyages) and that the plaque was due to the body reinforcing and patching up weakened areas of the blood vessels that would otherwise rupture.
Pauling also showed that heart disease could be prevented or treated by taking vitamin C and other supplements. Just as carrying limes and other citrus fruits on ships became the norm when we found out it stopped the dreaded scurvy.
Pauling’s Revolutionary Theory Was Developed On Several Important Scientific Findings: FIRSTLY: Plaque deposits found in human aortas are made from a special form of cholesterol called Lipoprotein a or Lp(a), not from ordinary LDL cholesterol. Lp(a) is a special form of cholesterol that forms the thick sheets of plaque that obstruct arteries.
SECONDLY: Plaque deposits are not deposited uniformly around the circulatory system, instead, they only occur at sites near the heart, on bends, and where mechanical pressure is great. These are points where the artery gets stretched and bent with every heartbeat.
AND LASTLY: That plaque only forms in parts of the artery that are damaged from this constant bending and stretching. As tiny cracks appear in the artery wall, Lysine a component of collagen is slowly released. This lysine attracts Lp(a) to the site of the crack and as time progresses the sheets of Lp(a) deposit on top of each other and start to develop into a dangerous blockage.
As Pauling observed the process of plaque formation, which was similar to that of scurvy, he also noticed other clues that support his theory.
#1. ATHEROSCLEROSIS DOES NOT OCCUR IN ANY ANIMALS THAT PRODUCE THEIR OWN SUPPLY OF VITAMIN C.
#2. ONLY ANIMALS THAT DON’T PRODUCE VITAMIN C ARE ABLE TO PRODUCE LPa. THAT’S HUMANS, APES, AND GUINEA PIGS
PLEASE STOP RIGHT NOW TO CONSIDER THOSE TWO POINTS! They show the direct link between Vitamin C deficiency and Heart Disease! There have also been animal studies that have been found to support his theory. Studies on animals such as guinea pigs which cannot produce their own Vitamin C show that when dietary vitamin C levels are restricted, collagen production drops, and the blood vessels become weaker and thinner. At the same time, the animal begins to increase the blood levels of Lp(a) and plaque is seen to form at points of potential rupture and damage."

BTW my husband and I both take 10,000 IU's of Vitamin D daily with a Super K from Life Extension. We recently had heart scans and his calcium score was very high. Mine was higher than it should be. We maintain about 65 ng/mL of D so I was surprised that we would have this problem. Because of the info above, our arteries are constantly patching up the lesions so that the K is not able to keep up at those sites. You need to heal the underlying sub-clinical scurvy. The other post is a gold mine of info about all this and it would be worth looking at.
Would love your feedback on all the Vitamin info links...
I bet you love vitamin D
Just kidding around don't have a cow
V8t D from the sun is excellent at fighting cancer.
I read Titor17 about the Vitamin C and L-lysine so I went out and bought 2 bottles 1000mg each so I will have it to last. Going to do it for a month starting June 1st. then at the end of the year I will do it for 2 weeks as a preventative. I also have some chewable gummy Vitamin C. Thanks for all the good medicinal supplement information.
Levy found out that high quality extra virgin olive oil can trigger production of C in the human body. In about 70% of people tested. Hope we have follow up studies in the future. Sounds very promising
Thank you. I will go and see if I can find a container.
Yours too.
Don't drink orange juice - it's high in fructose, which causes inflammation AND causes weight gain. Eat the occasional whole orange but avoid fruit juices.
I heard that somewhere too. Like all juices
Been taking an L-lysine once daily
It works WONDERS dood
Thanks. I will try that after I clean out my arteries.
M9st synthetic vit C c9mes from questionable Chinese sources. The best is made in Scotland as Quali-C
Thanks.
Be careful they aren't talking about the synthetic garbage...
Your right about that, the cheap stuff is in most multi Vitamins..
90% of C comes from questionable Chinese and Indian producers. If you saw the process you'd be grossed. Get the best stuff from Scotland, called Quali-C
great info & vitamin c will be easy to find.
And I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but is there 'cheap' lysine to look for? a specific brand...
also, since I know you like to research:) have you read anything about Sarsaparilla? I think it cleans the blood, and remember President Trump talked about cleaning the blood from the inside🤔 (it has a bad reputation too. which 'they' do to helpful products)
Be careful of your sources. This and most vitamins in pill form are from chemical sources and are not what you think. We’ve apparently been duped for a long time.

Quali-C a good source from Scotland
Another excellent post.
The battle rages on:

I've been on C for half my life and I'm rarely sick even tho my diet is much lacking
Wait until you read Levys article on high quality evoo triggering the body to produce vitamin C under stress. Yes it seems possible in 70% of people. The polyphenol content must be high and source / freshness of evoo important.
