Looks to be the case this time. I see where you're going with this, that this is more of a GE Aerospace issue, not (necessarily) Airbus (or Boeing). But there's plenty of layers of failure baked into this shitcake, and plenty of blame to go around. Airbus and Boeing, for whatever reason, just seem to the the most visible targets. Some people think [they] are trying to destroy the plebian air travel industry.
Boeing and Airbus are more visible because they put together the jets we fly. But you're completely right, these aircraft are made of tens of thousands of components made by a long list of companies around the world. Many of these are in jets made by both companies and all the other smaller ones.
Sure they want to make us own nothing and be happy, no travel of any kind for you bigot. But I think the problem in this industry is more insidious.
It's a problem that starred when McDonnell Douglas reverse acquired Boeing, and then changed their engineering culture to creating value shareholder above all else culture.
This problem is compounded by DEI hirings across the system. No one wants to be in a rollercoaster at FL420 with vaxxed captain Shaniqua fighting to ignore a stick shaker other and system alerts.
In the end it's been a little over four years since I've taken a flight. Now I drive.
Yep. All of that rings true. One other thing is the lowering of pilot medical cardiac standards to keep more jabbers keeping the gravy train going. Until they don't.
Be safe on those roads, my fren. Jabbers drive, too.
This time, it was an Airbus (A320)
In fairness, I'd do almost anything not to go to Seattle, too.

So a CFM56 caught fire.

I'm flying to Chicago this month coming up. I'm only slightly terrified lol.
Well.. that's why we put 2 engines on them.
For a more spectacular fire?
As opposed to the biden presidency that took off with both engines on fire.
Over efficient engine
this is fine. 🤣
