I was wondering if someone would go in this direction? Thank you for your keen insight. We are not a Republic, certainly not since...well...ever really. If you use a modern dictionary to define Republic, you find this: a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.
Our current Constitution is far from this (although most people don't realize it). What we have now and have had since 1787-88 is what the Anti-Federalist Papers (Patrick Henry) called a "Masked Aristocracy." It was the same bankster, satanist, Freemason, Illuminati players who ultimately gave us the Federal Reserve Central Bank and the IRS who supported Alexander Hamilton and two other disingenuous players to hijack a convention of the States who's mandate was simply to strengthen the Articles of Confederation. Instead, they, using subterfuge and while hiding behind fake names, convinced the states with demonstrable lies that what was needed was and entirely new Constitution to replace the Articles...which were actually better than a Republic in my opinion.
One amazing fact is that very nearly EVERY American under the age of 50 currently alive has never read the Articles of Confederation or the Anti-Federalist Papers. As with so many other documents, this should be required reading in high school and certainly college. Suffices to say (because I don't have the time or space to explain in detail) that everything the Anti-Federalists were concerned would happen if we adopted the new Constitution has indeed happened in spades...EVERYTHING! So, what Patriots need to know is that our current Constitution IS THE REASON we are in the situation we are in by design. Many of our Founding Fathers like Patrick Henry tried to warn their contemporaries, but were ultimately unsuccessful. The "Coup" was successful and now here we are. As a side note, the ONLY reason the states went along with the rouge was because of addition of the Bill of Rights as an afterthought. Even this, disingenuous men like Alexander Hamilton, were against! Can you imagine how much farther we would be down the road to complete slavery were it not for the Bill of Rights being added? I shudder to think!
My favorite part of Hamilton’s biography was the part where he found out Aaron Burr was faster.
A very interesting read in this vein is called "How Alexander Hamilton Screwed Up America" by McClanahan
If you ever want to have your brain messed with, listen to Michael Malice debate Tom Woods on Hamilton.
The dude actually won the debate, not that it changed my mind.
Lmao

Isn't this what we have? Eligible voters elect representatives who govern according to the law? Well somewhat ignoring the last part about govern according to law as I believe most of our elected representatives are crooks.
I thought same thing. "We're not a republic anymore". You took it a lot further. Im in my early 50s, and I remember my 5th grade, err... 6th grade teacher going over The Articles of Confederation.
