The current tech people like to dismiss is AI
I'm hearing people talk about AI the exact same way that people that were unfamiliar with the internet and online shopping and that said that they would never use their credit card on the internet sound So very familiar to the people that I would talk to about IT stuff 25+ years ago.
ALOT of people simply don't get it. They don't understand it and they are afraid of it.
I spent a few hours teaching my 70-year-old parents how to use and customize chat GPT and AI image generators to help them do tasks that they regularly do in their business and personal lives and now they use it regularly. They are Not only more productive and have saved thousands of dollars on things that they would normally pay professionals to do but they also have more free time as a result.
Indeed. I happen to agree.
It’s somewhat ironic. How true the statement “ The more things change. The more they stay the same” is.
We’ve got letters and writings dating back to antiquity. Old people complaining about, or concerned over some facet of the behaviors or morals of the younger generations.
We’ve got writings of people complaining about or not understanding technological advances.
Memoirs of Old people doing the old “Back in my day” joke. . And we’re still dealing with it now. 2000 odd years later.
"Old people complaining about, or concerned over some facet of the behaviors or morals of the younger generations."
...and of course, they're always wrong, aren't they?
