Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I went back on my thyroid medication for one week. Started last Sunday and took my 7th dose yesterday. My joint pain has returned. I jogged for 10 minutes in my backyard and at the end of the segment, I did my usual sprint to the finish line. I couldn't sprint nearly as fast as I used to when I was off the medication. The pain in my knees was substantial. Big Pharma wants me to keep taking the stuff to get my TSH numbers within range. I'm thinking it's more important for me to exercise than having my TSH numbers in range. I really don't notice anything different while being on the stuff other than maybe a slight improvement in my mood. I'm seriously thinking about going off the stuff starting today.
I started on a low dose of levothyroxine years ago when I had a knot show up on my throat. Always felt like crap while taking it. About 3 yrs ago I stopped. Was curious to see if the knot returned. I read that Castor oil is good for the thyroid. So 3 times a day I put it on a cotton ball and rub it all on my neck. Has also tightened up the skin under my neck. Win win 👍🙏🏻
just find out if you have to taper
There are natural alternatives... find a doctor or nutritionist that does nutrition and applied kinesiology testing. I've been doing it for 30+ years.
