Disagree entirely, attributing implicit worship because of the existence of a statue is obtuse. That is a piece of commemerative history. I can't say it doesn't happen, but I have never heard of anyone worshiping a statue of one of the founding fathers.
God tells us "Thou shall not bow down to graven images".
We should not worship statues that humans put up.
Who the hell worships this statue?
This
Not sure.
My point is that we shouldn't care if they keep or remove a statue. It doesn't mean anything.

Yes.. but it is assuming those who have a statue. Is somehow better than others.
The founding fathers belong in books. Put their photo in a book.
Which communicates in the context of their importance.
Exactly
No one is worshipping this statue. It is to honor our past.
God tells us not to do this.
So I don't care about statues.
So, a statue of Jesus would be bad as well?
God tells us not to build statutes for the purpose of worshiping it. He doesn't say don't build statutes.
Exodus 20 4-5 Leviticus 26 1
Both say don't do it with the intention of worshiping it.
It's a slippery slope of idolatry.
Once you put up a statue of George Washington. Down the road someone will put up a statue of Baal.
I am not talking about getting on your hands and knees and bowing down to George Washington.
I am saying that a statue is a form of idolatry.
if it nots. Than that would mean the statue was put up for nothing.
