The fallout from Gass's joke led to a domino effect that saw Gass dropped by his agent, and the remainder of Tenacious D's tour was canceled.
Looks like Tenacious D finally has to pay the piper (Satan) for their Pick of Destiny. Thing about signing in blood, there will always come a point where you will regret making the deal.
That really is probably how it works for so many of these household name entertainers, isn't it? Sign off on getting official support and financing for some indefinite period of time where you can only go up (with the condition you don't go off script). Theoretically the sky's the limit: Fame. Fulfilled Desires. Adoration worldwide. Even critical acclaim if you work hard enough.
But whenever your number is up, you must and will undergo the humiliation ritual as part of the cashing in. I just wonder how clear this part of the initial contract is. I'm sure many many successful entertainers went through some dark shit phase, realizing "we didn't sign up for this". But its too late, they did whatever they had to do and now leverage is against them. They simply must sear their conscience to a crisp, try to enjoy the ride for however much longer it will last. Drugs the usual go-to to help numb the voice of repressed morals lurking deep within.
I agree 100% with this statement. And after they declare that they didn't sign up for THIS, I believe they're outcasted, publicly smeared and suicided. Some names that come to mind:
Fans adored them, then they were run thru the ringer and suicided bc they were no longer willing to play ball. Hec, I'm at a point now where I truly believe not a single "entertainer" has ever killed themself. They were taken out bc they no longer wanted to play by the contract or play as ugly as the contract demanded.
I can guarantee you Cornell did not kill himself. The official narrative of that situation is such a convoluted mess, I am amazed anyone buys in...but they do. Sheep.

Jack Black canceled the tour when he heard what was said,,,I heard. If true props to Jack.Lets be real now, Jack is the far more talented individual.
Jack still shills for Biden and is one of his fundraisers, so fuck him.
Jack laughed at the joke at the time. He only canceled the tour to try to save face and distract from that it was the venues that were canceling on him so he was not going to have anywhere to play for much of the rest of the tour. The venues were getting tons of refund requests and some were worried that riots might break out in their buildings if they said that "joke" in front of the wrong crowd.
Ehhh, fuck him then. I thought maybe he was one of the not so bad guys. Figures...
