I'm not a fan of subscriptions, but I'm currently enjoying Kagi search. They don't make any money with advertising.. only from subscriptions. Consequently, their results are really clean/unbiased and I usually find what I'm looking for without a lot of scrolling though crap. If you search a lot like me, it may be worth trying. It has some great features like "lenses" which are great for limiting searches to forums or specific groups of websites. It also includes a private AI which doesn't appear to be woke (I asked about the Trump assassination attempt and it provided unbiased up to date info).
I'm not affiliated with them in any way and only mention it as an option for those who are tired of shitty search engines. Is it worth $10/month? For me it is. I'm searching constantly and it's saved me a lot of time and frustration.

Brave also has LEO, an AI you can chat with (uh, unless it's only for paid or certain levels of paid accounts; I don't recall) -- it's in the pop-out sidebar at the right, and it's quite good for many things but NOT useful for topics the Cabal wants censored, like whether the COVID jabs are Safe and Effective.
And for those who don't like chromium based browsers; Consider giving Waterfox a shot
There's always Ungoogled Chromium as well, but there are a few hoops to jump through to set up extensions and a search engine.
Waterfox was bought by an ad company in 2020 https://www.waterfox.net/blog/waterfox-has-joined-system1/
And became "independent" again in 2023 https://www.waterfox.net/blog/a-new-chapter-for-waterfox/
Not sure what kind of "Development" happened in the 3 years under Startpage though. Could be compromised. /tinfoil
Yandex is also a very good search engine.
Especially on topics that Google wants to suppress.
I have been using the Brave browser for a couple of years now after DDG went woke. Highly recommend it.

does it block facebook?
It only blocks ads and trackers, not whole websites. Get a good antivirus software like PC Matic or Kapersky if you want to blacklist websites.
If you're wanting to fully block websites, I recommend doing this on the OS level, using the 'hosts' file.
Here's an example for Windows users (this how-to actually uses facebook for the example): https://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/block-websites-using-hosts-file
For Linux/Mac users, just edit (as root) the /etc/hosts file and add:
127.0.0.1 facebook.com
127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com
Vivaldi > Brave, IMHO.
How is it better?
Tab consolidation, tab tiling, few more built-in tools (screenshot tool, pomodero timer, etc..)
Thanks.
Do you really think it's a good idea to have a crypto wallet in your browser?
