Those skinny kids of the 1960s (pre-fastfood) had a lot more potassium in their diet. Today's fastfood junkfood is loaded with sodium and not near enough potassium --- need 4,700 mg per day.
Never thought about it in regards to weight loss. It makes tots sense though. I’m going to add a lot to my diet and see if it helps. I’ve been dealing with pretty much every single low potassium symptom mentioned in your shared articles. I’m betting that’s the culprit.
They also seem to be contradictory about potassium.
Low potassium causes all sorts of profitable illnesses.
Here is a channel on potassium.

This is good, thanks for the share.
FWIW I have increased my potassium ----- it makes it a whole lot easier to lose a few pounds if you need to. Also low sodium.
The sodium in fast food is a bitch ---- makes things even worse.

I take a potassium citrate. The government limits the pill size to 99mg each so you have to take a bunch of them. I chew them up with water.
I slowly increased the dosage.
I use salt substitute (potassium chloride) instead of regular salt (sodium chloride)
I eat potassium rich food like vegetables, dried apricots, bananas.
Cut back on sodium ----- processed food is packed with salt. I had to learn what normal, unsalted food tasted like.
