Just so ya It was an asthma attack.

Swimmers are tested after they swim for any substance that can enhance their swimming. some Inhalers can enhance their swimming and cause them to fail these tests so elite swimmers do not always use them before their races.

Many swimmers are asthmatic and swim to help their lungs so an asthma attack is not an uncommon event to see on a swim deck after a race.
