Well, they push it aggressively to all pregnant mothers saying that it supposedly makes kids smarter, yet I've seen zero evidence that today's kids are smarter at all compared to kids born without all the supplementation. And obviously the Amish and many other cultures don't do it. So I'm naturally suspicious. Related to autism? Maybe, but the trend correlates even though vaccines are probably way more important and more definitively linked.
On the other hand, it contributes to obesity.

And there are a few other things too that may just be coincidence, but I've become very cynical about anything that doctors push, and they push iron supplements a lot.
