Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I went to church this morning. Always an absolute major waste of time. I go there because I feel obligated for all the free food I get from the Bishop's Storehouse. I don't know why I feel so obligated though; I gave that church a ton of money over the years.
You should never feel obligated to go worship Jesus. If that’s not where you feel the calling to be, ask Jesus to lead you where HE wants you to be.
I'm probably expecting too much from that church. I keep hoping somebody there will give me some leads on possible jobs I could apply for. I keep thinking the church should be an employment agency first and a church second. I'm probably wrong to think that. Most of the people going to that church are either government employees, or former government employees with a nice pension check coming in every month. They simply don't want to hear about my employment woes.
God has something better in mind for you than that. Don’t settle, because when all is said and done I believe there will be less government employees. Put God first and then He will direct your paths in the direction that HE wants you to go. Be patient and let HIM teach you as you go through the process. 🙏🏻
Uh, yeah. You've definitely got it wrong. And seriously, in THIS economy you can't find a job?
If that church isn't preaching the gospel with a mix of fire and brimstone (speaking about hell), it is time to get out of that church.
