I agree with you, we aren’t. My point is the “AwakenedOutlaw is implying Johnson is selling us out by pulling the bill. He really had no choice, six Congressmen from his caucus blocked it.
At this point, as much as I hate it I would trade a CR that expires in six months for passage of the Save Act. The Save Act could play a major role in seeing President Trump and MAGA majorities elected. The CR would then expire under their leadership.
The 6 Congressman were people like MTG, Burchett, Mills, Massie, etc. Very MAGA types.
They refused to support this because they have not been guaranteed by Mike Johnson that he would fight to keep the Save Act in the Continuing Resolution bill.
First and foremost, The Save Act was passed by the House back on July 10, 2024. Congress has already passed the Act and it has been sitting on Schumers desk ever since. No way in hell will Chuck Schumer allow The Save Act to pass the senate.
The only leverage the house has is to Not Fund the Government by issuing a Continuing Resolution (CR) to extend government funding.
When the CR comes up (government funding dries up at the end of September), that would be a time for the House to say, fine, we will authorize the CR but you must pass the Save Act first.
Make a BIG deal about this. Shut the F-ing Government down over this. Our country ENDS if Illegals can vote. It is BEYOND obvious that the election steal plans for 2024 are to FLOOD the nation with ILLEGALS and give these Illegals orders to vote (or Vote on Their Behalf, which NGOs most definitely would).
IMHO I am 100% okay with a government shutdown. Most of the election fraud appears to be running through the Intelligence Community, the Department of Homeland (in)Security, and other government entities anyway. Dry their funds up. Starve them out of business.
my point is still valid

Some further clarity, as I understand it.

I’m hoping a big part of this is intentionally staged drama, but I’m skeptical. Republicans are smart enough to pull that kind of thing off.
Here is some more perspective from Congressman Tim Burchett, fren.
Johnson could have forced the vote. I would prefer that.
I think the optics of six or seven Republicans killing it would give cover to the Dems.
you may be right, but I don't trust Johnson.
Agreed.
