Who approved this and who is paying for it? Where is the information going? Who paid for the development? If the answer is tax funds were used, then we the taxpayers own the satellites and the information.
I've wondered for a while now if there's a critical mass where one exploding satellite would create a chain reaction of space junk shrapnel that would eventually take out most satellites in orbit.
That could be. But I think that scenario is more like saying one ship at sea exploding and taking out all the other ships in the ocean. Yes objects in orbit are much faster and have more energy, but the space above us is unimaginably large and orbits of objects are sepearated by great distance unless trying to rendezvous/dock.
Teledesic LLC is establishing the Teledesic Network of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide fibre-like (low latency, low error-rate, high availability) broadband communications to all parts of the world, with initial operation planned for the year 2003. The projected budget for the spacecraft, launch, ground terminal development and OA & M is $US 9B.
The principal shareholders are: Craig McCaw, Bill Gates, Motorola, Boeing Corporation and Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. The major technical partners are: Motorola, Boeing Corporation and Matra-Marconi.

The republican party. And, their democrat, communist, nazi, and monarchist allies.
Proof? It is more than likely the Dems because Gatesbis a globalist and evil with his eugenics plans and support just like his dad.
What a gay faggot.
WTF! He also want's to dump particles in the sky to "protect us from climate change"
Whats the carbon footprint of that lot Bill?
"We had to destroy the planet to save it"
