There are no references to the bible or christianity or any particular religion in the Constitution.
Well lets just use a relevant example so you can understand. The lyrics to Creed’s song “My Own Prison” doesn't mention the Bible or Christianity or any other religion but its clearly referencing Christ on the cross. You dont have to say something outright to be influenced heavily by it. The word Creator in the declaration of independence is capitalized for a reason. The idea that rights are given to us by God and not man is a Biblical concept.
Further he didnt say the constitution mentioned the Bible or God just that our republic was founded on those principles.
He says we are a constitutional republic built on the bible and the word of god. I would think our Constitution would spell that out if that was the case. A lot of religions have Creators. I think it is left open on purpose.
Or it wouldnt to allow for the maximum amount of religious freedom while still employing those princples.
Where does it say in the bible god gives us the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? It seems to me god does what he wants in the bible, rights be damned. Whenever I bring up wiping out cities and even all life on the planet, christians say "Wulp he makes the rules!"
Canny the constitution references biblical principles, mostly pertaining to the teachings of Jesus, and not be somewhat influenced by it.
2/10 strawman pump it up
What principles?
So there's this thing, its called google. Its a great thing, amazing thing actually. And there's this thing, called reading, it works a lot to help you understand. I could explain it, but every tenant and belief of the constitution has relations with the good will of the Christian belief. Not my job to explain it, plus its baiting into an argument.
No one said or is incenuating there were "references" to the Bible or Christianity (by quote directly) in the Constitution, pertaining to the posted content. Which is what you are straw manning about.
You good?
How is what I said a straw man? It's a direct response. He will need to back up what he said or you will have to do it for him if you want to consider this settled. The Establishment Clause bans establishing a state religion. In light of that I think it's an exaggeration to say what Mr. "Rock Preacher" said there. So no, I'm not good with this attempt to frame our nation as built on the bible. He can say it but I can disagree with reason.
Here's an updoot for being correct.
However, that's not what he said. Go watch the video again.
I did not say he said anything. I am pointing out there is no evidence in...the Constitution that we are a constitutional republic built on the bible and the word of god.
Lol, downvoting a true fact!
