It is not illegal to shout obscenities to a police officer, much less a dog.
My bet: His public defender attorney stabbed him in the back by not offering a real defense, and judge was a co-conspirator in a kangaroo court.
There needs to be justice against corrupt judges lawyers and DAs.
There is, it's called the second amendment
It is in the UK apparently. Free speech doesn't seem to apply across the pond.

Oh, was that in the UK?
If so, I feel bad for the Brits, but somewhat relieved it was not a conviction in the USA.
My point still stands, though, as most attorneys in the USA are cowards when it comes to upholding the law -- if it will make a judge mad.
I had a hard time believing that was in the US yet, so I did a search for a guy who got 20 years for yelling at a police dog. I figured with the other speech issues in the UK it was likely a situation there.
That search gave the link I shared.
I know some former public defenders. They're bottom of the barrel law school grads for the most part. And in a lot of states, they work out of he same office as the prosecutors they supposedly fight against. Almost always these "plea deals" are done during sorts bar lunches and the poor sap who can't afford a real lawyer gets screwed.
