Yeah, doesn't add up. Not a single fatality, but they couldn't protect 20 of their most valuable war assets? You don't leave a hundred million dollar fighter out on the runway, they should have been in a blast-protected hangar.

The US made a deal with Israel back in the 60's that we would replace any military equipment they lost in battle. Not sure if the deal is still valid but it seems very unlikely they would lose 20 F35s but maybe claim they lost them to get new ones.
This is why we should not send our best and brightest to war. Nothing is indestructible. This is why we need cheap, easy to replace hardware. This is why it is foolish to spend 10 million dollars training a single infantryman.
